Rachael is the Young Adult Division Director at the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh. She oversees all fundraising, leadership development and outreach and engagement for young adults ages 22-45. Some of the initiatives Rachael currently oversees include the Wechsler Leadership Development Institute, Shalom Pittsburgh and National Young Leadership Cabinet. Prior to working at the Federation, she spent 4 years working at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh as the Operations Director for Emma Kaufmann Camp and later as the Children, Teen & Family program coordinator at the JCC. In her first position at the Federation as the Outreach & Engagement Associate, one of Rachael’s priorities was to focus on collaborating with other agencies that serve the age 22-45 demographic, in order to achieve the shared goal of engaging young Jewish adults.
Rachael is a graduate of the Florence Melton Mini-School Foundations program. Her passion lies in non-profit work, particularly in outreach and engagement and leadership development.
In her spare time, she teaches exercise classes at the JCC and volunteers with the National Council for Jewish Women, Hadassah Young Women’s Group and the Friendship Circle. Rachael lives in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh with her fiancé, Alex and is getting married in August 2014.
